Bonding- Fraser Valley photographer

Oh my perfect little baby Sadie. She came easily, we went home within 3 hours of her birth, and my recovery was fast. She was just thrown right into the craziness of our life. Brian working 6 days a week, and logging long hours, Maddie being, well, a busy two year old, and daily life just going on.

I put her in a wrap, nursed her on the go, just tried to survive. It worked, life wasn’t as hard as I was expecting, but I never really got that special chance to bond with her. Those special moments of just lying in bed, cuddling and nursing, and gazing. All the things that you get with your first baby, but may not have a chance to get with the second .

Now that Brian has been off of work (more on that later), I’ve had a chance to really take her in. To gaze into her eyes, to rub her soft skin, and to caress all of those adorable rolls. Brian has only been off since Wednesday, but I can already feel my love for her growing, and our bond getting stronger..  And it doesn’t hurt that she is almost completely over this Colic business.

Michelle Smid - Oh my how I love that baby! She is looking so grown up.
Loved this post. I am a little bit anxious about balancing my time between the two girls as well. Making sure each one feels love and gets attention. But I am also sad that baby may not be able to bond in the same fashion like you get to with the first. I am so thankful that Brian has been able to be home for you! Blessings in disguise right?! I just love your family!ReplyCancel
