My morning routine of drinking a delicious smoothie and checking my email was made a little sweeter after reading an email from Weddings in B.C. informing me that they featured Brittany and Pav’s engagement session in the Inspiration Room today!
It was one of my goals this year to have a feature on a wedding blog!! I can I hear a WOOHOO to accomplishing goals!

Thank you to Weddings in BC. It is exciting, humbling, and fun to have been featured!
And more exciting news, Brittany and Pav have just set a date!
13 years. I has been 13 years since it HASN’T rained on April 23rd. The odds were against us, but the sun was shining and the freckles on my pale cheeks started to peek their way out. Kaylee was a seriously gorgeous Bride, she seemed calm and relaxed, and enjoyed every minute of the wedding day.
I only heard her say ” I might puke….or pass out” twice!!!
Nico and Kaylee decided to do a “first look” which I always love. First looks give an opportunity for the Bride and Groom to have an intimate moment before the wedding madness begins. It makes everyone so much more calm and relaxed ( you can expect a full blog post about ‘first looks’ the next week or two).
When I asked Kaylee to describe her wedding in three words she said Western, Romantic, and Classic and that is exactly what it was. I was amazed at the details they put into the Western theme!
If you haven’t already noticed, I love sneaking the happy couple out for some portraits during the reception. The light is usually so beautiful, and they always turn out to be some of my absolute favorite pictures.
Moving is always been a big change. Moving to a different country, not knowing anyone, with Brian in school all day everyday wasn’t easy at first. But now, thinking of all the amazing people we have met already, I would never change it!
We do girls night every Monday, and it is so much fun. We talk about husbands, kids (I’m the only one “kid less”) and, living with ginormous student debt while our husbands are at Chiropractic school. I met Brandy at girls night, and was excited to see she was expecting! We quickly planned the newborn shoot, and here it is!
Joëlle’s family has been a part of my life ever since I can remember. I went to Pre-School, Elementary, and High School with Joëlle’s sister Fiona. Their dad was my soccer coach, and English Teacher. Needless to say, we go way back! Joëlle, Rob, and Gabriel have been living in Winnipeg (I know, I’m cold just typing that word) and emailed me when they were planning a trip out to British Columbia to see if I was avaliable to do their family photos. I am always so flattered when people contact me from so far away. I know that in the midst of planning a family trip, things can be a little crazy, but I really appreciate being chosen to do your family photos!
We were all a bit concerned with the weather. It had been raining on and off all morning (big surprise) but we were able to sneak in the shoot before the rain really came down.
During family shoots, you really never know what you are going to get. Sometimes it takes a while for the children (and parents) to get used to the camera, and feel comfortable. But Gabriel was absolutely amazing!
Look at those perfect brown eyes!
Gabriel was such a little HAM!
I couldn’t choose between these two pictures. So adorable!
