I cannot believe this sweet boy is already one, it’s amazing how fast the first year goes…. Or any year in that matter. I was lucky enough to document his birth story, his newborn images, and be part of his daily life.
When dad Pav contacted me about a one year lifestyle session, I was all over it! They had just renovated a beautiful home in Hatzic, with absolutely amazing natural light streaming through the windows. I said yes, but what Pav didn’t know, was that I had been dreaming of this shoot in their home for months.
And just for fun, a little before and after. The first shot was taken at the Abbotsford hospital, when Kruze was just one day old. And the second, exactly one year later.
If you’d interested in booking a lifestyle session, please contact me. It is such a stress free way to document your life, and daily routine.
“Hello Michelle, I have some news for you. The second biopsy has come back, and has confirmed malignancy”
So many things ran through my mind while the doctor called me to tell the news, and none of them were death, recovery rate, or reoccurrence.
Maddie said she needed more cream cheese on her bagel, is that her knocking and crying at the door?
Is Sadie sitting on the counter? Or up on the table again?
Was Brian over cooking dinner?
“I have sent your results to the surgeon, and he will be setting up a surgery date and discussing treatment”
I really have a lot of emails to send out, and edits to complete.
Just tell me the surgery date, and I can get planning.
Oh shit, we just put an offer on a house.
I really wish I would have opted in to that critical illness insurance.
I wonder if they can make me hyperthyroid so I can eat pizza and not get fat, and have lots of energy.
“It’s one of the ‘best’ kind of cancer”
At least I get this Cancer business over early in life, so I can forget all about it, and go travel the world with Brian when the kids grow up.
I better not have to do freaking radiation.
I’d really like get a Costco membership, that propane fire pit has been calling my name.
My family is going to be so sad.
“Are you OK”
Life has surprisingly kept on going on as usual. The craziness of having young children, growing business, and commitments has been the greatest way to keep me busy, and forget the reality of cancer. My surgery date is set for March 29th, and we welcome all the positive healthy vibes and thoughts you can send this way. The prognosis is amazing, and I’m feeling very positive and hopeful. Looking forward to ringing in my 29th birthday Cancer Free .
I will be taking 2.5-3 weeks of work for recovery (March 29th-April 16th ish), and then things will be back to go as normal! I will still be answering emails, and edits while recovering. And looking forward to capturing wonderful families over the spring and summer months!
In the meantime, I’ll be snuggling these two crazies <3
I’ve known Corey since elementary school, and it was such a nice surprise to hear from him, and find out that they’re expecting a girl! Corey and Sharman are such a sweet couple, and it was such a pleasure photographing Sharman’s adorable 37 week belly.
Happy birthing energy to you Sharman, I can’t wait to meet your adorable baby girl for our studio newborn session!
I absolutely love this family, they’re so kind and great with our kids. Every time we hang out, it’s like the best built babysitting/cousin fun day ever.
This time though, it was a hangout without my kids, for a gorgeous family photography session. We headed to one of my favourite locations in Abbotsford B.C. Kathy wanted to have more artistic images, to print as large canvases throughout their home. I love hearing requests like that, because it let’s my creativity start flowing <3
