Alright.. I’ve taken a big long breath and realized that the madness has ended… The craziness of this amazing wedding/portrait season sunk in on during the drive back to Portland on Sunday. I looked over at that handsome husband of mine and said “holy.. that’s it.. for a while.. like a few months… CRAZY”. Crazy is the only adjective I could think of to describe this year, crazy fun, crazy stressful, crazy awesome clients (I think I need to take English 9 again so I can use some more appropriate adjectives).
Anyway, enough of my blabbing on. I know you all want to see what’s coming next on the blog.
And a few mini sessions to boot!!
What the heck am I going to do with my time? What do you do when you don’t have to drive 12 hours to work every week or two? Who am I kidding.. I’ll figure something out. Maybe joining a nudist colony because none of my clothes fit.. Or more likely, catching up with my blogging!!!
******Side note, please send some positive thoughts, prayers, healing energy to my dear friend Matt who is in the hospital right now********
Oh man, sometimes making decisions is hard!! This has been on my mind for a long time, trying to decide where I want my business, my life, my relationships to go.
After many, many months of deliberation, narrowing down what I love the most, and trying to picture our life as a family, I’ve decided to:
Focus primarily on family portrait shoots!
Although I love weddings, and have been so lucky to have worked with some of the most amazing amazing couples, I will no longer be booking weddings. My goal is to expand my business into a family portrait only, and I’ve been working hard to get the ball rolling in that direction for a while now. I have a vision, and if you know me, there really isn’t much that can stand in my way when I get an idea in my head. I’m a bit stubborn that way.
I’m going to be a mom.. holy crap.. an actual mom..
With a new baby on the horizon (can I just note, the cutest baby in the world is due feb.6 2012) I can’t imagine driving back and forth from Portland to B.C as much as I did this summer. I spent 168 hours in the car, back and forth from Portland to B.C this year so far.
After a short yet ridiculously awful flu last January (that almost made me miss one of my weddings) I got a little scared. The fear of letting someone down on their wedding day is absolutely horrid. I couldn’t live with myself knowing that I had let someone down on one of the most important days of their life. What would happen if I got sick, if our baby got sick, if my gear got stolen.. All of those things have been running through my mind ever since I started shooting weddings.
I think I can thank my mom for my “worry wartness”
I like kids.. We can relate to each other..
Short attention spans// Constant need to be fed//Constant need to be entertained//Frequent naps
you get the idea
Alright, so here’s the catch..
If you feel like your wedding is going to be the best party of the century//the most fun one photographer could ever have//the most laid back wedding known to man kind//
you can call me….
I’ve been known to take bribes.. Chocolate, Massages, Expensive pieces of art ;).. you know, the good stuff
I want to thank everyone in advance for understanding!!
And because every post is better with a photo, here is one of my growing belly!
Sam is a very talented yoga instructor and Doula, check out her blog HERE.
We have a ton of mutual friends, both love yoga and music festivals, but have never really had a chance to hang out . Finally the stars alined, and we had a chance to hang out, enjoy the evening sun, and take some photos (we have to make this a regular occurrence Sam)!
Mr. Ball.. You’re crazy. I love it!
Sam’s Grandmother had a beautiful family ring, which was lost after she passed away. So Sam got this beautiful tattoo, and then they found the ring!!
I love stories like that!
Sam, YOU ARE GORGEOUS!!
Charlie came along for some pictures! It’s so fun when families bring their dogs, it adds an extra special something to the images.
They were honestly hilarious!
Sam is teaching pre-natal yoga at Unison Yoga in Mission, be sure to check it out!!
You guys were awesome!! It was such a fun evening!!
